Imperial College Design Collective Arduino workshop

 

Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for scientists, artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling motors, pumps, lights and other actuators; it can transfer the input data directly to the computer or store it and send it over the internet or the cellular network.

 

 

​The aim of this workshop is to introduce the Arduino family and its development environment to the students of Imperial College Design Collective.  The two-days workshop will combine presentations and hands-on sessions that will help you to start building your Arduino projects.

This is an interactive workshop with lots of hands-on activity. No prior knowledge of electronics/programming is required. You don't need to bring your Arduinos or any other electronic components with you, but you do need to do bring a laptop with you and do the following before the Workshop:

In each hand-on session the participants will be divided into small groups of 2-3.

• Please bring your laptops to the session (1 laptop for each group)

• Download and install the Arduino IDE software before the session (link)

• Go to https://create.arduino.cc/ and sign up for the Arduino WEB editor.

• Download and install the Arduino plug-in from: https://create.arduino.cc/getting-started/plugin
